Munawar Faruqui winning Bigg Boss 17 has the internet divided; few netizens even termed him as ‘sponsored winner’!

Yesterday was the day when the much-awaited grand finale of Bigg Boss 17 took place amidst mega fanfare, excitement and anxiety filling the air. Those who witnessed the unfolding of the Grand Finale will surely agree with the fact that, till the last moment no one was able to predict the winner.

Munawar Faruqui beats Abhishek Kumar to lift the Bigg Boss 17 trophy!

After all the hype and hoopla, it all boiled down to Munawar Faruqui who beat his core competitor Abhishek Kumar to win the reality show Bigg Boss 17. No sooner had his name been announced by Salman Khan as the ultimate winner, the entire atmosphere was filled with ‘chants’ of ‘M-U-N-A-W-A-R’. Even though Munawar Faruqui was declared the winner, there was also a flip side to the same. Not many were seemingly happy with Munawar Faruqui winning the show.

Munawar Faruqui's win divides the internet

On one hand, while social media was abuzz with congratulatory messages pouring in for Munawar Faruqui’s win, on the other hand, there were many who felt that it was Abhishek Kumar who was far more deserving than Munawar Faruqui. One netizen took to social media and wrote, “No …least deserving winner I have ever seen .. totally biased show”, there was another who wrote, “Sponsored Winner”!

Another internet user wrote “I really can’t understand why u guys get ppl like Mcstan & Munawar when on finale such ruckus is created dat dey will burn da set or wotever dhamki 2 make such ppl win the trophy in kairath.. all he did entire season took sympathy shame”. This user also went on to tag the show’s production company (Endemol Shine), Salman Khan and Colors TV in the same post.

A visibly upset and irritated netizen commented about Munawar Faruqui by saying, “not only the most undeserving winner but he is the most undeserving contestant . MC (Stan) aur MF jaise chapri don aake trophy leke jayenge dara k to bhai show band karo”. Another user wrote, “Voting to sirf Bahana tha Winner to pahle hi fixed tha”.

For those who missed the grand finale, here’s what happened. To begin with, the first person to be eliminated was Arun Mashetty, which was followed by Ankita Lokhande, which was truly a shock to many… including Salman Khan.

Post that, it was another shocking eviction in the form of Mannara Chopra. This, then, led the show to get its two finalists in the form of Abhishek Kumar and Munawar Faruqui. After all the suspense, Salman Khan (in his trademark style) went on to end the nail-biting suspense by declaring Munawar Faruqui as the ultimate winner!
