Munjya fame Abhay Verma and Siddharth to headline a Netflix series titled Safed Sagar? Here's everything we know so far

2024 introduced the Indian film industry to a fresh wave of young talent, which was widely regarded as a positive development for the ecosystem. Among the most loved newcomers was Abhay Verma, who quickly became the industry's newest chocolate boy. The actor made his big-screen debut in Munjya after gaining attention for his role in The Family Man. While the film was a massive success, it was Abhay who became a household name in no time.

While it is already known that he is working with Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan in King, as per reports, he has now signed another major project—this time, a Netflix series alongside Siddharth. The show will be based on a real-life operation carried out by the Indian Armed Forces, highlighting the bravery of the Men on the Border. Read on to learn more. 

Abhay Verma and Siddharth Join Forces for Netflix Series

Netflix recently unveiled its slate for 2025, which includes an impressive lineup of films and series. Among them is Test, a film starring R. Madhavan and Siddharth, which already had fans excited. However, there’s even more to look forward to, as Siddharth is also set to star in a Netflix series alongside Abhay Verma. Titled Safed Sagar, the series is based on a real-life event.

According to a Times of India report, “Actors Siddharth and Abhay Verma will star in Safed Sagar, a new Netflix series about the Indian Air Force's 1999 Kargil War operation. Directed by O ni Sen, the series will showcase the bravery and precision of the Indian Armed Forces. The show explores the strategic airstrikes aimed at dislodging Pakistani forces during the mission.”

Oni Sen, best known as the creator and director of Asur, is at the helm of the series. Safed Sagar, based on Operation Safed Sagar, will depict the historic 47-day operation in which the Indian Air Force successfully flushed out Pakistani forces from the Indian side of the Line of Control (LoC). As per the same report, the show will emphasize the bravery and strategic brilliance of the Indian Armed Forces, showcasing how the Indian Army and the IAF came together to demonstrate their strength against the opposition.
