Prithviraj Sukumaran in a media interaction before he left for Algeria and Jordan had said that he and Lucifer scriptwriter Murali Gopy will be working to finalise the script of Empuraan while shooting Aadujeevitham. It now seems that the duo has delivered on their promise.
Murali Gopy took to his social networking page on Thursday to share an exciting update about the Mohanlal-starrer. He shared a photo of a book with the titled L2E The Screenplay, referring to Lucifer 2: Empuraan, and posted it with the caption, “L2: r-E-ady for L-aunch!”
The film’s director Prithviraj too commented on the post. “When chaos arises and darkness descends… he will return to reset the order. The Devil’s order…” This does surmise that the duo has locked the script for the movie, which is now expected to go on floors by early 2023.
This will also give Prithviraj time to complete the shoot of his prior commitments and then get on with the pre-production of Empuraan, which is expected to be made on a huge budget and on a level that would appeal to the pan-Indian audience. Lucifer, which marked Prithviraj’s directorial debut, had broken several box office records when it hit theatres in 2019.
Prithviraj is expected to return from Jordan in June and begin shooting for Venu’s Kaapa next. The upcoming movie, which also has Asif Ali, Manju Warrier and Anna Ben in the lead, is based on GR Indugopan’s script. He will then start work on Vilayath Buddha, which is directed by Jayan Nambiar.
The actor will also be shooting for his portions in KGF director Prashanth Neel’s Salaar, which has Prabhas in the lead. He also has the big budget epic thriller Kaaliyan set to go on floors later in the year. Empuraan is slated to begin only after he is done with these films. Meanwhile, Prithviraj’s next theatrical release will be Shaji Kailas’ Kaduva.
