Murder By The Sea trailer: After the hills, Anjan Dutt lays out a new murder plot by the sea with many characters and their backstories

Anjan Dutt’s love for whodunit continues. After Agatha Christie-esque Murder In The Hills that became widely popular on Hoichoi, the director is back with Arjun Chakrabarty, Sujan Mukhopadhyay, Supravat Das and others. Along with the old cast members, a bunch of new actors and actresses, including Trina Saha, Ananya Chatterjee, Paayel Sarkar and others are seen. While the trailer was released on August 3, the series will drop on August 12. 

There are a number of actors from the previous series. However, the trailer shows no hint of the continuation of the previous plot. Murder By The Sea is a fresh whodunit plot that is set by the beautiful waters of Puri. 

The trailer shows Bikram Roy (Sumanta Mukherjee), a renowned rich Bengali gentleman, who is murdered at the shore of the Puri sea. The high-profile murder loops in Arpita Sen (Ananya) to dive deeper into the case with Raja Sen (Anjan) on her side. The murder mystery becomes complicated when everyone gets involved in the string of murders and everyone becomes the suspect, including Bikram’s Casanova son Arjun (Arjun), his girlfriend Rina Das (Trina), the victim’s most trusted secretary Ramen Das (Suprobhat Das), his lawyer Barun Samanta (Sujan), Bikram Roy’s mistress Bimala Roy (Paayel), and many others who were present at the party, the night before Bikram was murdered. The story becomes complicated when the suspect becomes the target. Bimala Sen and Barun Samanta get killed. 

Talking about his upcoming series and what the audiences can expect from it, Anjan said, “Murder By The Sea isn’t your ordinary murder mystery. It’s essentially a story about people and their complexities. How every person present in the story has dark secrets and begins out as a suspect and then moves on to become a target forms the crux of this series. I think the characters are the driving forces in the series and it's their layers that add to the thrill of it. So, my audiences can not only expect an engrossing murder mystery but also a story about people and the everchanging dynamics between suspects and targets, that’s equally thrilling and unexpected.”
