Vijay Raaz and Ashutosh Rana have gotten together for the first time for a series. The two come together for Murder in Mahim, which is a web series which will be out on Jio Cinema. The trailer of the very series has been unveiled and it has some interesting moments to offer.

What is Murder in Mahim about?

Set in 2013 in Mumbai, the series talks about how the city is a mayanagari, which pulls you in if you have a dream to chase. There is a murder which is being investigated. Vijay Raaz is in charge of the investigation and leads it. Ashutosh Rana, on the other hand, plays a journalist on the show which will be out on Jio Cinema.

A novel adaptation

Based on the novel by Jerry Pinto, this is about a murder which takes place on the busy Mahim railway station. The mystery behind the place is unfolded as the series, helmed by Raj Acharya, progresses.

When Vijay Raaz-Ashutosh Rana came together

With that, it is also revealed that the police officer and the journalist were actually partners and would solve cases in an instant. The two partners, as you can guess, are Vijay Raaz (who plays the cop, Jende) and Ashutosh Rana (the journalist, Peter). But an incident pulled them apart. It leads to a slap and egos clashing. Whether they do come together to solve the particular case or not, is what the trailer unveils. What’s interesting is that Peter’s son becomes a suspect in the case. Talking about the same, Ashutosh Rana said in a press statement, “Peter’s inner struggle amid the complexities of the murder investigation allowed me to add depth to the character.” Vijay Raaz, on the other hand, said, “My effort was to bring a humane touch to this character, which is evident in the investigation scenes, but at the same time, there is aggression on the personal front which comes out in front of his family.”

Murder In Mahim is among the latest offering from Jio Cinema and also features Shivani Raghuvanshi and Shivaji Satam in pivotal roles. The series will be out and be available for streaming from May 10.
