It’s nearly a month since the team of Kiccha Sudeep’s upcoming fantasy-action-drama, Vikrant Rona, released the first single from the film. Gadang Rakkamma, composed by Ajaneesh B Loknath and picturized on Sudeep and Bollywood siren Jacqueline Fernandez, went viral, even though it was only a lyrical video with fleeting visuals of the actual number, like the hook step, for instance. While the Kannada version of the song came out on May 23, in the preceding days, the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi ones were also released to much fanfare.
In the days since, #RakkammaHookStep and #RakkammaChallenge became trending hashtags, as celebs and fans took to social media to do their version of the viral dance number. Even Sudeep, who is quite active on social media, got down to doing his first-ever reel to the song. While choreographer Jani master followed suit, Sudeep’s Pataki Poriyo co-star Ashika Ranganath, and other actors like Rajeev Hanu, Vaishnavi Gowda, Divya Uruduga and Aravind KP, Riteish Deshmukh, among others, did the hook step as is, Jayaram Karthik’s workout version was also quite the hit.
But the most-latest reel to the song is the one that has fans excited. Composer Arjun Janya, who has worked with Sudeep on multiple projects, decided to give it his spin and since he’s not much a dancer, he did what he does best – used music. Arjun took to the keyboard to do a re-imagined version of Gadang Rakkamma, writing, “My first ever Reel where my fingers are dancing for this super hit tune by my dear brother @AJANEESHB 🤗 Dedicating this video to my Godfather @KicchaSudeep sir.Seen you breathing only #VikrantRоna from past couple of years sir ! Cant wait to witness this epic fantasy on screens.”
Fans, of course, were not only supremely thrilled with this version, but also began clamouring for a remixed version of the entire song by the composer. Will Arjun Janya oblige?
