Balcony Buddies is an upcoming interactive film about an accidental friendship between two strangers. MX Player is introducing the new wave of storytelling with Sunanda and Prateek’s (essayed by Aisha Ahmed and Amol Parashar) tale of friendship, who become friends after getting bored with their lockdown routines and spot each other across their apartment’s balconies.
The forthcoming experimental film has an interactivity feature that provides freedom to the audience to make choices on behalf of the two leading actors. The direction of the story will change according to viewers’ choices. The makers recently released the trailer of the film. The trailer has both its characters having new experiences during the lockdown. While Prateek tries to learn yoga from Sunanda, she is impressed by the idea of a cup phone that the former introduces to have a conversation with her. Both help each other out with the office outfits, have virtual dates with each other and more.

Talking about her character and the show, Aisha said, “I do resonate with Sunanda. I love making friends. So, during the lockdown, I would randomly wave at people from my building’s terrace, just for some human interaction. Amol and I have known each other for a while now. So, it made filming this piece easy and fun.” The actress also mentioned that Balcony Buddies celebrates Friendship Day in its truest sense and the interactivity element makes it all the more fun for the viewer.
While concurring with her, Amol added that people assume making new friends in lockdown is rather difficult, which is partly true but just by making extra efforts to greet their neighbour, a lot can happen.
Balcony Buddies starts streaming on MX Player from August 1.
