My Lady Jane is a new swashbuckling romance-fantasy series set in a fantastical alternate Tudor universe, and Prime Video has released its official trailer. The streaming giant will be the only place to watch the eight-part series debut on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
My Lady Jane, based on the best-selling novel, offers a radical reimagining of the English royal family's history by cutting out the killing of Lady Jane Grey, the tuberculosis deaths of King Henry VIII's son Edward, and the scoundrel husband, Guildford. Jane, the protagonist of this daring new series, is both intelligent and stubborn. Her unexpected coronation shocks her, and she soon becomes the target of evildoers who want her head as well as the crown. My Lady Jane is an epic love story with fantastic adventures.
Emily Bader, a newcomer, plays the primary role of Jane Grey. She stars opposite Edward Bluemel, who portrays Guildford Dudley. Jordan Peters plays the role of King Edward. Anna Chancellor portrays Lady Frances Grey, Jane's mother, and Rob Brydon portrays Lord Dudley, the father of Guildford. Dominic Cooper plays Lord Seymour. James Broadbent portrays Jane's uncle, the Duke of Leicester.
Isabella Brownson and Robyn Betteridge portray Jane's sisters, while Henry Ashton portrays Stan, Guildford's brother. Abbie Hern plays Princess Bess, and Kate O'Flynn plays Princess Mary, the sister of the King. Among the other cast members are Michael Workeye, Joe Klocek, and Máiréad Tyers.
Creator Along with Gemma Burgess, Meredith Glynn, Laurie MacDonald, and Sarah Bradshaw, Gemma is also an executive producer and co-showrunner. Jamie Babbit, who also served as the executive producer, directed five of the eight episodes.
