What is My Lord about?
My Lord is written and directed by filmmaker Raju Murugan whose last film Japan had bombed at the box office. With My Lord, Raju Murugan explores the themes of survival, identity, and power politics. It revolves around an economically disadvantaged couple Muthusippy and Susila who work at a matchbox factory in Kovilpatti. However, after a series of health issues and getting into trouble by a loan shark, the couple finds themselves in soup after they are declared dead as per government records. Adding to the trouble, Muthusippy is being coaxed by the men of a powerful minister into donating one of his kidneys to the dying politician.
