Hansika Motwani, who got hitched to businessman Sohael Khaturiya last year, is returning to Telugu cinema with a thriller. Her next release in the industry is titled My Name is Shruthi, a film directed by newcomer Srinivas Omkar. Prema, Murali Sharma, Pooja Ramachandran and Aadukalam Naren play significant roles in the film bankrolled by Burugu Ramya Prabhakar. The film releases globally on November 17.
The trailer of the film was launched today in the presence of cast, crew and media in Hyderabad. The glimpse begins with the death of a girl, who falls prey to skin cancer owing to an organ trafficking scam. A female antagonist points out that money knows no gender and doesn’t discriminate between men and women. A man says he is after the skin of women, while the cops chase the mastermind(s) behind the crimes.
A politician is in talks with a home minister and a DGP about the case and the protagonist tries to trap the perpetrators as part of her plan. There are discussions on morality, power and money. The trailer ends with Hansika’s dialogue about the Nirbhaya act, how it came into place immediately but it took nearly 10 years to end the lives of men responsible for her death.
My Name is Shruthi deals with a pertinent issue, has a racy treatment with a decent emotional foundation and promises abundant action as well. Hansika has chosen her comeback project well. Kishore Boyidapu cranks the camera for the film which has music by Mark K Robin. Chota K Prasad is the editor and Govind Erasani is the art director. Rabin Subbu is the stunt director and Bandi Pavan Kumar is the co-producer.
Tips Music has acquired the music rights of the film. Hansika will also be seen in a single-character Telugu film titled 105 Minutes soon. She starred in a Tamil web show titled MY3 and is simultaneously filming for four projects - Rowdy Baby, Guardian, Gandhari and Man.
