Naane Varuven: Elli Avram says she feels blessed to be working with Dhanush and Selvaraghavan

Naane Varuven is a movie that has grabbed the attention of the fans since its announcement. Elli Avram, who plays the female lead in the movie starring Dhanush, has opened up about working with the actor and director Selvaraghavan. 

“Though I’d shot for Paris Paris before, this will be my big debut as a lead actress in Tamil. And to work with talented people like Dhanush, Selvaraghavan sir and Om Prakash (cinematographer) is something I didn’t expect would happen so soon. I feel very, very blessed,” she said in an interview with Times of India. 

The actor also reveals that the role came her way after her song with Aamir Khan, Har Funn Maula had just come out and had started filming for another movie. She remembers how she took up the role with excitement when Dhanush called. 

Elli Avram adds that Dhanush is a dream to work with and even after having worked in so many languages and despite being a superstar, he is very supporting on the set. 

Elli says that though she has not seen any of Selvaraghavan’s works, she became a fan of the director during the shooting process. She adds that she was surprised by his vision and the clarity he had to offer about the movie and the process. 

The makers of Naane Varuven announced the film’s wrap yesterday on social media. “"Feeling so blessed & excited to finally share this with you all.”, Elli wrote in a Tweet, sharing a photo from the sets. 

Naane Varuven marks the return of the actor-director duo after more than a decade. They have previously collaborated for Kadhal Konden, Pudhupettai, and Mayakkam Enna.
