After a group of people had voiced their protest against the titles of Nadirshah’s Eesho and Kesu Ee Veedinte Nadhan, the filmmaker took to his social media page to state that he is removing the tagline of ‘Not from the Bible’ from Eesho’s posters.
The group had alleged that the titles of both the movies were intended to hurt religious sentiments of the Christian community and also pointed out that the tagline reinforces this.
Replying to the criticism, Nadirshah said that the character in Eesho has no connection to Jesus. “This is just a character’s name. Also, because my brothers from the Christian community were disappointed, the tagline of ‘not from the Bible’ will be removed,” he said.
The director also said that they have no intention of changing the titles of Eesho and Kesu Ee Veedinte Nadhan. “I am an artiste who has friends from all religious communities and has a mind to equally respect all religions. I am not culturally ignorant to hurt anyone’s religious sentiments,” he said, adding that he was ready to accept any punishment after the audience watches both the movies.
Nadhirshah had completed filming a song sequence from Dileep’s Kesu Ee Veedinte Nadhan last week and will be releasing the motion poster of Jayasurya’s Eesho today.
Eesho is touted to be a thriller, which also has Namitha Pramod and Salim Kumar in prominent roles. The movie is scripted by Suneesh Varanad and marks Nadhirshah’s first thriller after helming four comedy entertainers including Amar Akbar Antony and Kattapanayile Rithwik Roshan.
