Nadigar Sangam warns Mansoor Ali Khan over sexist comments on Trisha

The South Indian Artistes' Association, popularly known as Nadigar Sangam, has joined the chorus of condemnation against actor Mansoor Ali Khan for his recent sexist comments about his Leo co-star Trisha. 

Mansoor Ali Khan shockingly made inappropriate remarks about wanting to act in a 'rape scene' with Trisha during a recent press conference. Nadigar Sangam on Sunday released an official statement condemning Mansoor Ali Khan's remarks. The association expressed deep shock at his comments and highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by women in the film industry. 

"We were shocked by the comments made by senior actor Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan. Even today, it's a huge challenge for women to succeed in the film industry. Making such bad comments about female actors who are achieving great things despite many challenges must be unequivocally condemned. Our association will stand by the actresses who have been affected by this issue. We condemn Mansoor Ali Khan for making such disrespectful comments on fellow actors. His shocking behaviour has become a cause of anger and concern. As an actor and filmmaker, he needs to learn how to speak responsibly," said Nadigar Sangam.

The association demanded that Mansoor Ali Khan issue an unconditional and sincere apology in front of the media. They also stressed the need for him to be mindful of his stature as a celebrity and to be responsible when making public statements. Nadigar Sangam also revealed that it was contemplating suspending his membership until he issued the demanded apology. The actors' association seemed to be determined to take strong action against Mansoor to serve as a cautionary tale for other actors regarding their public expressions.

"There will be serious repercussions for such behaviour in the future," the association said. 

Since Mansoor's controversial press interaction, many leading members of the Tamil film industry have strongly condemned his comments, while expressing solidarity with Trisha.

Earlier, Mansoor issued a statement claiming that his comments were meant as a "joke." However, it was not enough to appease his colleagues and the public, who have been incensed by his remarks.
