Director Deva Katta impressed one and all with his debut film Prasthanam, featuring Sai Kumar and Sharwanand in lead roles. The political thriller was a rage with the audience, but sadly, post that film, Deva Katta is yet to deliver a proper hit.
A few days ago, we at OTTplay already reported that SS Rajamouli of RRR fame has roped in Deva Katta to pen dialogues for his biggie with Mahesh Babu. Well, the director is back in the news as he has announced his new series, Mayasabha.
Taking to social media, Deva Katta stated that his web series will be 400 minutes in runtime and that Season 1 will start streaming in the last quarter of 2025. The news that Naga Chaitanya will be playing the main lead in this series was the news. But his team has slammed the rumors and stated that Chay is not part of the series.
Naga Chaitanya made his OTT debut with the show Dhootha, directed by Vikram Kumar of Ishq fame. The Amazon Prime series was a solid hit, and very soon, Season 2 will also go on floors.
This announcement from Deva Katta came as a surprise, as not many knew such a web series was even being made in the first place. The special aspect is that the shooting of Mayasabha is almost complete.
As per the latest update, Mayasabha is a political crime drama that is being made on a very realistic note. Deva Katta is known for riveting drama in all his films, and the same is going to be the highlight in Mayasabha as well. The streaming platform has been kept a secret as of now. The makers are expected to announce the show officially soon.
After giving big hits Manam and Premam, Naga Chaitanya is now high on the success of Thandel and is now shooting for his new film with director Karthik Varma Dandu of Virupaksha fame.
Deva Katta has closely worked with Rajamouli for one of the series related to Baahubali. But as the makers did not like the rough cut, the series was called off. Now, he is back to writing and says he has multiple projects in hand and is raring to go with his gritty web series, Mayasabha.
