Nagarjuna, after the rural entertainer Bangarraju and the fantasy thriller Brahmastra, will be seen in a full-on action film The Ghost, directed by Praveen Sattaru. Sonal Chauhan plays the female lead in the film jointly produced by Sunil Narang, Sharrath Marar and Puskur Rammohan Rao under Sree Venkateswara Cinemas and North Star Entertainment. Ahead of the film's release on October 5, the cast and crew gathered for its pre-release event held at STBC Grounds, Kurnool on Sunday.
The second generation of Akkinenis, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil, also graced the event organised amid huge fanfare. Nagarjuna thanked crowds for blessing their family with so much love across three generations. Referring to his cycle chain in the trend-setter Shiva, the star told that he would be returning with a sword in The Ghost, an action entertainer that'll please all audiences. "I have used a lot of guns in the film. I and Sonal underwent military training for it. The film is a blend of action and drama."
However, the real surprise of the evening was his announcement about the multi-starrer with his son Akhil Akkineni. "I acted with Chaitanya in Bangarraju this year - it did well at theatres and broke all records on OTT and television. I will also be working on a film with Akhil soon (his 100th)," Nagarjuna added. While Akhil had a special appearance in Nagarjuna, Chaitanya, ANR starrer Manam, he's yet to team up with his dad on a full-fledged film.
Meanwhile, the Manmadhudu actor also remembered about coming to Kurnool to promote Annamayya in the past. "It has been a long time since I've done an action film. The Ghost will fulfil your expectations. My good friend Chiranjeevi's film GodFather too is releasing on the same day and I hope you bless both these films," he shared. Naga Chaitanya and Akhil added that their father continues to be their inspiration even today and expressed confidence about the success of The Ghost.
Praveen Sattaru mentioned he grew up watching Nagarjuna's films and tried to capitalise on his strengths to the fullest in The Ghost, while conveying his gratitude to the producers and the technical crew. Sonal Chauhan felt The Ghost was a special, one-of-a-kind film in her career and shared her excitement about teaming up with Nagarjuna for the first time. The producers, composer Mark K Robin too attended the event.
