Nagarjuna on Kubera: Sekhar Kammula surprised me with a role I've never done before
Nagarjuna plays one of the leads in Dhanush's Kubera. He spoke about director Sekhar Kammula at the Chennai event and stated that the director surprised him with a crazy role.

Kubera is all set to hit the screens on June 20, 2025, and the pre-release event was held in Chennai recently. Nagarjuna and Dhanush graced the event, making it a grand success. While Dhanush stole the show with his sharp looks and humble nature, Nagarjuna exuded class and style.

The Govinda Govinda and Allari Alludu star spoke from the heart at the event and revealed that ever since Sekhar Kammula of Happy Days fame made his debut, he had wanted to work with him, but never got the opportunity. “When Sekhar came to me with Kubera, I was surprised, as the role is something I have never done before,” said Nagarjuna. He also added that it was a pleasure working with the likes of Dhanush and that he would cherish the memories made while shooting the film.
Nagarjuna spoke highly of Kubera and said that no one would expect such a film from Sekhar Kammula. “Kubera is one hell of a ride, and Sekhar will impress you big time with his narrative,” he concluded.
It has been quite some time since we’ve seen the Shiva actor score a hit in Telugu cinema. His solo-lead films have been few and far between, and at such a time, he has chosen to take on special roles in Rajinikanth's Coolie and now Kubera—two big films that will keep him in the spotlight.
Nagarjuna is also gearing up for his 100th film, which will be directed by a Tamil filmmaker. An official announcement is expected soon.

Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) has composed the music for this film, which is a direct Telugu release and will be dubbed in Tamil.
