There's immense expectation around Nagarjuna's upcoming film The Ghost, more so after the launch of its theatrical trailer recently. The action thriller has Nagarjuna playing an Interpol officer while Sonal Chauhan is cast the female lead. Gul Panag, Anikha Surendran essay other important roles in the thriller slated to hit theatres on October 5. Praveen Sattaru has helmed the film produced by Narayan Das Narang, Puskur Ram Mohan Rao and Sharrath Marar.

After the trailer clocked nine million views recently, the makers released a special poster commemorating Nagarjuna's 63rd birthday. While holding his trademark weapon in the film - Tamahagane - Nagarjuna, seated on a chair, is offering a stern gaze that could as well translate to 'bring it on mate!' if it had a dialogue version. It's a great sight to notice how the star is still as agile as ever in his 60s.

The story of The Ghost revolves around an Interpol officer trying to save his sister and his niece from the underworld. Gul Panag and Anikha Surendran will be seen as Nagarjuna's on-screen sister and niece respectively. The trailer promised a slick action film with an adequate dose of thrills. Mark K Robin scores the music for the film (he had replaced Mani Sharma) while Mukesh G is the cinematographer.

Dinesh Subbarayan, Kaecha are the stunt choreographers for The Ghost. Brahma Kadali is the art director. Mohan and Venkateswara Rao Challagulla are the executive producers. The Ghost is produced jointly under Sree Venkateshwara Cinemas LLP and Northstar Entertainment. Nagarjuna's 2021 release, Wild Dog (streaming on Netflix), was also an action film that drew praise from several corners.
