Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar and Shanvi Srivastava come together for a family-drama set in U.S.A

According to the latest reports, Avane Srimannarayana actress Shanvi Srivastava has come on board veteran Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar's next project. What's been described as a tribute to the filmmaker's cult classic America! America!! the upcoming film is said to be predominantly set in the U.S.A. with the makers planning to shoot in and around Seattle. The project is expected to go on floors in February of 2023. 

Made in 1997, America! America!! starred Ramesh Aravind, Akshay Anand and Hema Panchamukhi who play childhood friends in the film. Much of the film is centred on their interpersonal relationships as things get complicated when Ramesh Aravind's character, Surya, falls in love with Bhoomi (played by Hema Panchamukhi) who is, in turn, married to Akshay Anand's character, Shashank. America! America!! was shot extensively in San Francisco with coastal regions of Karnataka such as Kundapura, Udupi District & other areas too featuring in the film.

Coming to the upcoming film starring Shanvi Srivastava, reports suggest that Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar has been keen on making a film that harks back to the glory of the family drama, with some of his past work being the main references. Shanvi is said to have an author-backed role in the film and the rest of the cast will be announced shortly. 

Shanvi Srivastava was last seen in the Malayalam film Maha Veeryar (her debut film) and will next be seen in the Kannada films Bang (also starring Raghu Dixit) and Thrishulam.

Another highlight of this upcoming project is music composer Mano Murthy reuniting with Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar. The former began his career with America! America!! in 1997 before going on to collaborate with the director on many hot soundtracks like Nanna Preethiya Hudugi, Paris Pranaya and Amurthadhaare. Fans would certainly hope that the magic is recreated in the upcoming film.
