Comedy backed by powerhouse
Nagzilla is a comedy produced by Mahaveer Jain (known for producing Baazigar and Josh) and Karan Johar, and Kartik will start working on it after filming Tu Meri Main Tera Main Mera Tu Meri wraps. Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, whose work includes the critically acclaimed Fukrey films, helms the film. According to reports, the filmmaker is allegedly starting the most daring and thrilling chapter of his directing career with Nagzilla.
A lot of excitement is building around the fact that Nagzilla would include Kartik in two roles, according to people familiar with the production.
Double the Kartik Aaryan, double the fun!
Nagzilla is a funny spin on the classic human vs. snake battle, with the most surprising turn coming from Kartik Aaryan's dual part. An insider informed Bollywood Hungama that the two Kartik characters will teeter on the brink of heroism and villainy, as Shah Rukh Khan did in Jawan, but with a comedic twist.
The plot is so unconventional that industry experts are already forecasting its success.
An anonymous source said Nagzilla is funnier than all the Fukrey films combined, and Lamba is ready to start the most ambitious and thrilling directing career.
Vision brought to life
Lamba and Jain supposedly conceived the film, and Johar was brought in to develop it.
Jain collaborated with Lamba on the script, and Johar was instrumental in bringing the project to life. The source informed the entertainment portal that once Tu Meri Main Tera Main Mera Tu Meri is wrapped, the crew is prepared to begin filming in September.
Aaryan has clearly cemented his position among Bollywood's A-listers since he was allegedly promised a whopping Rs. 50 crore for his part in these future films.
Release date
Nagzilla is scheduled to premiere in the second half of 2026 after going on floors in September 2025.
