The short film, Tasalli Se, featuring Nakuul Mehta and Naveen Kasturia, has been winning the hearts of people with its beautiful story of two long-lost best friends who parted ways over a quarrel on social media or what one would call, an e-fight. Sometimes, social media becomes a double-edged sword. It has a tendency to drive a wedge between people and at the same time, also help strike unbreakable bonds.
And the film, Tasalli Se narrates the aftermath of one such e-fight between two best friends, Somesh (Nakuul Mehta) and Ranjan (Naveen Kasturia). The poetic narratives in the film reinforce the importance of personal interactions while projecting the ego battle between two friends realistically.
Actor Nakuul Mehta recently spoke about the script and what attracted him to the film. He said in a press statement, "The script explores many interesting factors because men we don’t usually speak our hearts out. You will hear about how two men catching up over beer or tea, but very rarely do we meet to talk our hearts out. So, this is a story of two estranged friends trying to find out what went wrong, and during this process, sharing vulnerabilities, weaknesses, pain, and grief."
The Bade Acche Lagte Hai actor further said that he found the script 'beautiful' and different from what he has done so far because of portrayals of men bottled up with emotions. He said the film encourages people not to judge others and see each other 'beyond boxing and labelling' them. "It helps steer away from the social conditioning of men not being able to emote. So, when I read the script, I instantly wanted to do this short film,” he said.
The film is produced by Yuvaa Originals and written by Sajal Kumar. A part of the OTTplay review reads, "The story is well-paced. In fact, its crisp writing, short run time and intense performances by the popular actors Nakuul Mehta and Naveen Kasturia make it more impactful."
