Just over a month ago, Namo Bhoothathma 2 released in theatres. The film, directed by choreographer Murali, saw him collaborate with Komal Kumar yet again, after their earlier film Namo Bhoothathma. While the first film was a remake (Yaamirukka Bayamey), this time around, Murali decided to return with an original story. Only problem was that his idea of an original was not all that original after all. The film was panned by critics and did not do well at the box office.

The film follows Komal, the creative head at a local TV channel, and his pal, played by Govinde Gowda, as they end up spending a few days at a mysterious haunted house. Despite Komal’s best efforts to make this horror comedy passable, the material at hand lets him down, with much of the humour relying on sexual inuendo. Namo Bhoothathma 2 was Komal’s second release since his recovery from Covid-19. The actor had a pretty bad bout of the virus and was critical at one point during his hospitalization. Komal had a long road to recovery and returned to work months later to finish up the film 2020, which was later renamed Undenaama .

Namo Bhoothathma 2 had managed to sell its satellite and digital rights prior to the theatrical release, with Sun Network picking it up. There was no update on when the film would be made available to stream, until today. Namo Bhoothathma 2 is now on the platform. Namo Bhoothathma 2, also stars Lekha, Mimicry Gopi, Mahantesh, Govinde Gowda, Rudresh, Monika and Varun Raj.

Meanwhile, Komal has a few films lined up, including Rolex, Yala Kuni and Kalaya Namah, with the latter being bankrolled by the actor’s wife, Anasuya. Yala Kuni is a film inspired by the late actor Vajramuni and will have Komal in a double role.
