Tollywood superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna's latest movie Veera Simha Reddy has created a new record in terms of viewership after its OTT debut. The movie was made available for streaming on Disney+Hostar on Friday evening. Thanks to the sustained promotional campaign leading up to its OTT release, the film has reportedly garnered more than 1.5 lakh unique views within a minute on the streaming platform. And it's said to be a new record for the platform when it comes to new Telugu movies.

Veera Simha Reddy was released on Disney+Hostar on Thursday at 6 PM. The film is available for streaming in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. In the promotional video, Balakrishna described Veera Simha Reddy as "his biggest action blockbuster" with "never-seen-before action."

Written and directed by Gopichand Malineni, Veera Simha Reddy was released in theatres on January 12 coinciding with the celebration of Sankranti. The film was released along with Waltair Veerayya, starring superstar Chiranjeevi. It's not the first time that the movies of Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna clashed at the box office. However, it was the first time in the history of Telugu cinema, two big-star movies produced by the same production house were simultaneously released.

Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya were bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers.

Veera Simha Reddy tells the story of a village leader, who takes to arms to keep the rowdy elements in and around his village in check. However, his commitment to the welfare of people and justice becomes the source of enmity between him and his younger sister. And Veera Simha Reddy ends up paying a heavy price in his personal life.

The film stars Honey Rose, Shruti Haasan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Duniya Vijay in the supporting cast.
