'Hi Nanna' is every bit the consummate family movie says the censor board as Nani's next release gears up to arrive in cinemas with a 'U' certificate. The actor took to social media a short while ago to share this piece of information and to also invite the audience to the theatres. 'Hi Nanna' is out in theatres on December 7.

The film, which marks the directorial debut of Shouryuv, is centred around an endearing father-daughter relationship with the narrative also comprising an intense love story. Nani, in his recent interviews, has described the film as a thorough entertainer that warrants a visit to the theatre, mainly because it has all the emotional highs and lows that audiences expect from commercial film.

"It may not be in the action space like other big-screen entertainers, but it isn't definitely subtle in dealing with emotions," he said in a recent interview, comparing his film with the likes of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and other romantic dramas.

Nani, of course, essays the role of the said father in 'Hi Nanna' with child artist Baby Kiara K playing his on-screen daughter and Mrunal Thakur playing the female lead. The cast also includes Angad Bedi, Jayaram and others.

Fans, too, seem kicked to see the actor return to his 'romance' roots following Dasara, the intense action-drama that was released earlier this year. While that film too boasts a love story at its core, Nani's 'rugged' and 'scruffy' look seemed like a bit of a departure from what he is generally known and adored for. 'Hi Nanna', he says in that regard, will present him as an 'urbane' celebrity photographer which would come as a refreshing change for his fans.
