Telugu actor Nani, who is expecting the release of his film HIT: The Third Case on May 1, is known for varied roles and backing films with meaningful tales. At several instances, he has talked about his love for cinema and good roles, and one such from his own filmography is the 2019 film Jersey, in which he played a cricketer. In a recent interview, Nani spoke about revisiting the film along with his son.

Nani talks about nostalgia during Jersey re-release

In a recent interview, Nani spoke about his best experience during the re-release of Jersey, his acclaimed 2019 sports drama. The actor recalled how after five years since the release, Jersey hit theatres once again and that he had gone to watch it in a theatre in Hyderabad, which housed about 700-800 people.

"Me and my son were watching and it was his first time watching Jersey. He was sitting next to me, and there were a lot of screaming and cheering. Just before the interval, Ronit (the actor who played onscreen son to Nani) does (gestures bowing down in respect), and the entire theatre stood and did the same in front of us in front of my son. That was my Jersey moment and my son did not understand why the audience were doing that. I remember that look, and it is worth everything,” Nani said, recollecting the incidence.

Jersey, written and directed by filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri, is a sports drama about a failed cricketer who returns to the field in his 30s, with the desire to represent the Indian cricket team. The film is available on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium at discounted price. 

Besides Nani, it also stars Shraddha Srinath, Ronit Kamra, Sathyaraj, Harish Kalyan, Sanusha, Sampath Raj and Viswant Duddumpudi. The film was remade in Hindi by Gowtham with the same title, starring actor Shahid Kapoor in the lead role.
