HIT 3 is one of the biggest hits in Nani's career. The Jersey actor is in top form with back-to-back successes, and HIT 3 stands out as the biggest. The film is now streaming on Netflix. In no time, the crime thriller has clocked record views and topped Netflix's India charts.
This is no mean feat, as HIT 3 is a Telugu film made primarily for a Telugu-speaking audience. It also marks the first time the Krishnarjuna Yuddham actor has played a cop, and the way he performed in the role has impressed one and all.
HIT 3 was released in Hindi and other South Indian languages, but the Hindi response was relatively dull. However, now that the film is available on OTT, it is gaining wide recognition. Nani’s films are a rage on OTT, which is why platforms spend big money to acquire his titles.
We at OTTplay were the first to reveal that Netflix spent a whopping ₹54 crore to bag the digital rights to the film. This investment has already been justified, as HIT 3 has clocked over 150 million streaming minutes online.
Sailesh Kolanu, who last directed Saindhav with Sankranthiki Vasthunnam star Venkatesh, made HIT 3 on a massive scale. Nani produced the film under his Wall Poster Cinema banner and earned handsome profits.
A special development is that Netflix has also acquired the digital rights to his upcoming film, The Paradise. HIT 3 is the third installment in the HIT series, and for the fourth part, Nani has roped in Karthi as the main lead.
In one of his interviews, Nani revealed that he wants to turn HIT into an Avengers-style franchise, bringing all the cops from the series together in a grand finale. For now, HIT 3 shows no signs of slowing down and continues to be a blockbuster on OTT. Stay tuned for more updates.
