The release of the much-awaited Telugu family entertainer Tuck Jagadish is just round the corner. After much consideration and delaying of release dates due to the exigencies of the COVID-19 situation, the film helmed by Shiva Nirvana, who is known for directing Majili and Ninnu Kori, has been locked for a direct-to-OTT premiere.

When will the film release?

Tuck Jagadish will release on Amazon Prime Video on September 10, on the occasion of Vinayaka Chathurthi, making it even more exciting this year for film buffs.

What is the story about?

The film features an ensemble cast—Nani, Ritu Varma, Aishwarya Rajesh, Jagapathi Babu, Devadarshini, Rohini, Bindu Chandramouli, Kanchapalem Kishore, Daniel Balaji, Rao Ramesh and Thiruveer. It is set in the fictional village Bhudevipuram and revolves around Jagadish Naidu’s joint family. Soft on the inside and tough on the outside, Jagadish played by Nani falls in love with Gummadi Varalakshni essayed by Ritu Varma. Gummadi is the newly appointed VRO of Bhudevipuram. Jagadish’s elder brother Bose Babu (Jagapathi Babu) passes on. A conflict over a plot of land happens and Jagadish steps in to resolve the matter, only to be misunderstood by his family.

What does Nani have to say about the film?

The film marks the second collaboration of filmmaker Shiva Nirvana and Nani after their successful film Ninnu Kori and fans of Shiva Nirvana expect him to continue the success spree with Tuck Jagadish, after Ninnu Kori and Majili. The film is also Nani’s second film on OTT after V, which released on September 5 on Amazon Prime last year.

In a recent interview with Telangana Today, Nani spoke about the expectations from Tuck Jagadish and the title of the film. While acknowledging that expectations from the film are high, he is confident of delivering on that. “Shiva has made a very beautiful Telugu family film,” said the actor, adding that its release on Vinayaka Chathurthi will allow the “families to sit at home on festival day and watch a film which was made for families”.

He also opened up on the title of the film, “He is the only one who always tucks in.” He further said that while Jagadish is a common name, his character is called Tuck Jagadish as per his “identity in that village”, which has been explained in the second half of the film.

Sahu Ganpati and Harish Peddi of Shine Screens have produced the film. S Thaman has composed the music while Gopi Sundar has composed the background score of the film.
