The new single from Bejoy Nambiar’s bilingual college drama Por has been released. The song, titled Nanpakal Neram, is composed by Dhruv Visvanath and the lyrics are penned by Vignesh Srikanth. Sung bu Kapil Kapilan, the song is a vibe and we can't get enough of the soulful number. The song features romantic exchanges between Kalidas Jayaram and Sanchana Natarajan, and Arjun Das and TJ Bhanu. It is about both the couples’ meetups and their fun-filled college lives.

The video also showcases the rivalry between the two leading men and the fallout they have with their partners. Overall, the song is exactly what you envision when you watch a classic Bejoy Nambiar film; it will definitely remind you of songs from his 2017 film Solo.

Notably, the Hindi version of the song, Yeh Pal Hain Apne, from Harshvardhan Rane and Ehan Bhatt’s Dange was also released along with Nanpakal Neram. The lyrics of the Hindi number are penned by Vishwadeep Zeest.

Bejoy Nambiar on why he chose to shoot Por and Dange simmultaneously in Hindi and Tamil

In a recent interview, director Bejoy Nambiar revealed why he chose to take the unconventional step of shooting a bilingual with two different sets of actors. He revealed that he felt this way more organic than opting for dubbing. “The decision to shoot the film in Hindi and Tamil simultaneously was to to capture the true essence of the story and maintain the authenticity. By casting different sets of actors for each language was a gradual process that I had planned accordingly. This method involved shooting each scene twice – once with the Hindi cast and then with the Tamil cast, ensuring a seamless sync in both the versions,” Bejoy said.

He added that he believes that this has added a unique layer to the storytelling.
