Acclaimed Hollywood director Ridley Scott's latest biopic epic drama Napoleon, starring Joaquin Phoenix in the title role, has become available for streaming. If you have not seen this film during its nearly 50-day run in theatres, you can rent it on popular streaming platforms and watch it from the comfort of your home.

Napoleon is available for on-demand purchases and rentals on BookMyShow Stream and Amazon Prime Video. Produced by Apple Original Films, the movie will take some time before it debuts on Apple TV+.

With its arrival on OTT, Napoleon is likely to end its not-so-eventful run at the box office worldwide. The movie is said to be made at a whooping cost, which is estimated to the tune of $200 million. The movie must have made three times its budget to be considered a commercial success in box office terms. Considering that Napoleon intended to service Apple's ambition to drive up its subscriber count for Apple TV+, jugging its success purely on the terms of its theatrical performance would not be fair.

According to reports, Napoleon earned more than $213 million from its worldwide ticket sales so far. It's still a welcome feat for Apple Original Films in light of the performance of its previous magnum opus Killers of the Flower Moon. The $200 million Westerner based on the killings in Osage county didn't live up to the expectations at the box office as it only managed about $156 million in ticket sales. It would have been dubbed an epic disaster considering it boasts of Hollywood's top-notch talents including director Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Lily Gladstone.

Napoleon is based on the rise and fall of the great French Emperor. Judging from the trailer, the film seems to delve into the complicated love-hate relationship between Napoleon and his wife Empress Joséphine, played by Vanessa Kirby.

Napoleon has drawn mostly positive reviews from critics during its theatrical run. "A movie that is very interesting but also not perfect to be a foolproof winner. There are ace actors, a winning BGM, but also some flaws" read OTTplay's 3.5 star review.
