The film shows some epic details of the French Emperor and his chequered rise and fall, and his relentless journey to power through the prism of his addictive, volatile relationship with his wife, Josephine, showcasing his visionary military and political tactics against some of the most dynamic practical battle sequences ever filmed.

Although it's been nine days since its release, Napoléon is still receiving audience reactions on the internet. After researching for several days, we found out that audiences have mixed reviews on the film. While some of them have criticised the storyline, some criticised Joaquin Phoenix's performance, some talked about Ridley Scott’s direction, and are purely disappointed with the whole film.

A few netizens even doubted that Napoléon does not show 100% accurate history about the wars and disputes. Some even stated that the film portrays the French Emperor as a man child, which does not match with the memoir. Some even utterly disappointed for not showing Napoléon’s conquering San Dimas, which is considered one of the most important historical events of Napoléon’s reign.
