What is Narcos: Mexico about?

The crime drama traces the origin story of the Mexican drug cartel in the 1980s, telling a dramatised version of events which led to a few people controlling the country’s drug empire as its kingpins.

What happened on the previous two seasons of Narcos: Mexico?

The first two seasons focussed on the rise of one of Mexico’s most well-known drug cartels and the person behind it - Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo. It also revolved around the efforts of a DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) agent trying to track him down.

The second season followed the murder of the agent at the hands of the cartel and the efforts made by the DEA to avenge the slain man’s death, which ultimately kickstarts the war against drugs.

What will the latest season of Narcos: Mexico be about?

The latest season of the show will be set in the 90s, focusing on the events that lead to the ongoing Mexican drug war, led by the United States government.

Is Narcos: Mexico a sequel to Narcos?

Although the series was initially conceived as the fourth season of Narcos, it was later developed as a spin-off show. While the original show was set in Columbia, the spin-off is set in Mexico.
