Tovino Thomas is all set for his next big release of 2025. The intriguing trailer and posters for Narivetta, which allude to an appealing socio-political thriller, have piqued the interest of film enthusiasts. Here is all you need to know about Narivetta before it opens in theatres.
The film is slated to release on May 23. It will run in theatres along with Dhyan Sreenivasan's Detective Ujjwalan, Indrajith's Mr & Mrs Bachelor, Ranjith Sajeev's United Kingdom of Kerala and Sreenath Bhasi's Azadi.
A severe conflict between the authorities, police, and a tribal community is shown in the trailer. It also reflects the tribals' strong opposition to bureaucratic exploitation. In addition to the Kaanekkaane actor's outstanding performance, Narivetta promises an engaging socio-political drama.
The movie has been certified U/A and has a runtime of two hours and 19 minutes.
Ishq-fame director Anuraj Manohar has helmed Narivetta, in which Tovino Thomas plays the protagonist. The movie is anticipated to be the Maayanadhi star's biggest box office success of the year. In this suspenseful film, Cheran, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Aarya Salim, Rini Udayakumar, and Priyamvada Krishnan also play important parts. Abin Joseph wrote the screenplay for the movie, which was financed by Tippu Shah and Shiyas Hassan under the Indian Cinema Company's auspices.
The movie examines policing as an instrument of violence authorised by the government. While the protagonist does not stop standing by the truth, it also explores how oppressed individuals are subjected to the brutalities of power structures.
The film's post-theatrical streaming rights have not been disclosed by the producers. Given that ZEE5 acquired Tovino's last movie, Identity, this sociopolitical thriller is likewise expected to be available for streaming on a well-known OTT platform. By the end of June or the first week of July, Narivetta should be available on OTT.
