The team of director Pa Ranjith's upcoming film, Natchathiram Nagargiradhu, is busy with the post production work. It was recently announced that the team had completed the sound mixing and that the certificate from the Censor Board is expected to arrive soon as the film is gearing up for release on August 31.The film's title has a unique tagline, "Love is political."
Natchathiram Nagargiradhu features Dushara Vijayan, Kalidas Jayaram and Kalaiyarasan in the lead. The ensemble supporting cast includes Harikrishnan Shabeer Kallarkal, Vinoth, Subathra Robert, Regin Rose, Damu, Gnanaprasad, Vinsu Rachel Sam, Arjun Prabhakaran, Uthaiya Surya, Stephen Raj, Sherin Celin Mathew and Manisa Tait.
Taking to her social media page, Dushara, who had also starred in Ranjith's Sarpatta Parambarai, wrote, "This is the date which I had been waiting for and here it is #NatchathiramNagargiradhu from August 31st in theatres. We are here to stay & shine on 馃専 Thank you @beemji sir we owe this to you (sic)."
The film has music by Tenma, and the first single Rangarattinam, which was released recently, has already become a huge hit. The peppy dance number has the entire star cast dancing to the beats and what's interesting is that the song also represents diversity and inclusion. Interestingly, Tenma had also scored the music for Ranjith's short film Dhammam (Confession) which was released as part of the latest anthology series from SonyLIV, titled Victim, who鈥檚 Next?
It is said that though the film is a romantic musical, Ranjith will touch upon the politics involved in some kinds of love. The last time Ranjith had made a romantic film was Attakathi (2012), which featured Dinesh, Nandita Swetha and Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead.
The film has cinematography by Kishore Kumar of Irandam Ulagaporin Kadisi Gundu and editing by Selva. The team recently announced that the film will hit screens on August 31. Natchathiram Nagargiradhu is produced by Neelam Productions and Yaazhi Films.
