Natyam, the dance-themed film featuring Sandhya Raju, won many positive reviews upon release and received two National awards the previous year. The film’s male lead Rohit Behal was lauded by critics for his performance and now, he’s back in action for another theatrical release, Prathyardhi. Before a packed Sankranthi season, Prathyardhi is set to hit screens this weekend on January 6. The film, that marks the directorial debut of Shankar Mudavath, also stars Neelima, Ravi Varma and Akshata Sonawane.
Prathyardhi’s release timing is apt, given it’s a suspense thriller and one can’t emphasise enough on how the popularity of the genre has skyrocketed in the recent times. Going by the buzz, the film has an intriguing screenplay and a gripping premise and the team believes it’s the USP to draw audiences to theatres. The trailer of the film was launched recently and the makers are happy with the responses to the glimpse.
Shankar Mudavath, though a debutant filmmaker, is not new to the industry and has worked in various capacities with a good understanding of the various crafts of filmmaking. He previously assisted cinematographer Srikanth Naroj, the technician who was part of Deva Katta’s Auto Nagar Surya. He’s confident of proving his worth as a storyteller with Prathyardhi. Several previews of the film have been held for industry insiders and it has boosted the enthusiasm of the team.
Produced by Sanjay Saha under Gaalu Paalu Dream Entertainments, the film is written and directed by Shankar Mudavath. Rakesh Goud Maisa has handled three responsibilities for the film as a cinematographer, editor besides DI. M Raaj Nayak is the co-producer and Vijay Polaki is the choreographer. Shaolin Mallesh is the stunt director.
