Navdeep, who’s making rapid strides with his appearances on OTT this year - Newsense on aha and Maya Bazaar for Sale on ZEE5 - will be providing a facelift to a small-budget film soon. He, on behalf of his post production facility C Space, is turning a presenter for a film titled Sagileti Katha, a village drama. Newcomers Raviteja Mahadasyam, Vishika Kota play the lead roles in it.
The Rayalaseema-centric drama, which has wrapped its shoot and post-production formalities already, has cleared all the decks for its theatrical release. Besides directing Sagileti Katha, Rajashekhar Sudmoon is also the writer, editor and the cinematographer of the project. The makers call it a rooted, contemporary rural drama inspired by true, dramatic incidents in AP.
The actor recently watched a screening of Sagileti Katha and instinctively decided to present it and help it reach audiences. The trailer of the film will be launched on July 31, the team confirmed today. The film will have nuanced, well-written characters that’ll stay with you long after you watch it, the makers assure. The USP of the film is its authentic portrayal of Rayalaseema culture.
“Sagileti Katha isn’t merely a movie but a reflection of the many emotions in our lives. It’s rare to get a project like this and the characters will surprise you. I’m so happy to be a part of it,” the lead actor Raviteja Mahadasyam shared. Ashok Mittapalli, Deviprasad Balivada of Shade Studios, that made Kanabadutaledu earlier, have now produced Sagileti Katha with a young cast, crew.
Naresh Babu Maadineni is the executive producer for the project whose songs and background score are composed by Jaswant Pasupuleti and Sanal Vasudev respectively. Rajashekhar Sudmoon and Sashikant Billapati wrote the script. Hemant G, Aishwarya Kulkarni are the art directors. Varikuppala Yadagiri, Rajashekhar Sudmoon, Sashikant Billapati, Pavan Kundani are the lyricists.
