Garuda Prouductions and Pingo Pictures (associated with films like George Reddy, Guvva Gorinka in the past) are collaborating for a film titled Raakshasa Kaavyam, starring Naveen Bethiganti, Anvesh Michael and Dayanand Reddy in key roles. Srimaan Keerthi is directing the project, bankrolled by Damu Reddy and Umesh Chikku and Vasundhara Devi. The first look and the title of the film were launched formally at an event on Sunday.

A glimpse of the film revealed at the event, is set to the initial lines of MS Subbulakshmi's rendition of Vishnu Sahasranamam interestingly juxtaposed with its key moments and action sequences. The video ends with a dialogue from film where a female character says, 'Keep this in mind that none will bother if people like us die. But, if one among us is educated, he can give a new direction to the lives of hundreds.' 

Raakshasa Kaavyam is a periodic drama set in the 90s, where one could even notice the poster of Ramgopal Varma's Shiva in the backdrop. Pawan Ramesh, Praveen Dacharam, Kota Sandeep, Vijay Ambaiah, Vinay Kumar Parri, Kushalini, and Rohini essay crucial roles in the film. Rushi Konapuram has cranked the camera for the drama which has music by Rajeev Raj and Srikanth.

Mittapally Surender is penning the lyrics while Gandhi Nadikudikar and Naren Annasagaram are on board as the art director and costume designer respectively. Besides handling the edits, Venkat Kalyan is also the film's colorist and co-director. The film's release date will be announced shortly.
