Nawazuddin Siddiqui was recently seen in Costao, a biographical crime drama that follows the story of a customs officer, Costao Fernandes' fight against a gold smuggling ring in Goa. He was praised for his acting, and the film also received positive reviews. The actor who has turned 51 on May 19, opened up about Bollywood industry and said that it does not have strong friendships and relationships.
In an interview with SCREEN for its Creators X Creators segment, Nawazuddin Siddiqui said that there are no real relationships in Hindi cinema, and his friends are from the time when he was struggling to make his mark in cinema. Siddiqui said, “With time, it’s one person today and there will be someone else tomorrow. Its on the basis of need or benefits. The friendships that I also have in life are from old times, not from here."
The actor also mentioned that this happens because there is insecurity among every actor here, so there is no strong friendship or loyalty towards each other. The industry is not that strong or united, and there is a club of those who stay separate; they don't stay together.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui also complained about how the actors who acted in the film were not trained and did not meet the demands of the role. He said that the audience gets habituated to the bad acting of that actor, and then when we compare their first film and 15th film, we feel the acting is getting better in comparison.

"If you would have taken a deserving actor in those 15 films, then the actor would have been something else. Deserving and great actors are put in supporting roles, this makes me angry,” he concluded.
