The trailer of Nayanthara’s upcoming film, Annapoorani, dropped on YouTube recently. And within a span of a few hours, the trailer has clocked more than 2 million views. SaReGaMa South, which has acquired the audio rights of the film, shared the same on its social media handle, along with the caption, “#Nayanthara's #Annapoorani Trailer Hits 2 Million+ Realtime Views A Feast for the Eyes and a Recipe For Triumph (sic).”

Trailer explained

The trailer, which is a tad longer than 2 minutes, features Nayanthara as a young woman from an orthodox family yearning to become a chef. Her father prepares prasadam at a temple in Srirangam, Trichy. Her mother, too, says that not everyone playing cricket on the street can become a Sachin Tendulkar.

But Nayanthara is so passionate about cooking that she even goes on to lie about her MBA post-graduation to her folks at home, and goes to cooking classes instead. But an accident during her cooking session discloses her plan.

Later, her character also begins to cook meat, which puts the orthodox family in a spot. However, she overcomes the challenges, finds an inspiration in Sathyaraj and Jai’s character and goes to participate in one of the biggest cooking challenges. The film also delves into how meat-eating is still looked down upon by some sections of the society. The plot also has a dialogue that says, “No god ever said that eating meat is wrong.”

Did the team reveal the entire plot?

It looks like going by the trailer, the team has revealed the entire plot of the feel-good drama. Right from Nayanthara overcoming one challenge after another to achieve her dream, the trailer gives a peek into her entire journey.

Audience is quite excited to see the hit pair of Nayanthara and Jai get back on screen after a long hiatus. The last time the duo teamed up for Atlee’s Raja Rani (2013).
