Nayanthara's O2 teaser to be out on May 16

The teaser of Lady Superstar Nayanthara's upcoming film O2 is all set to be released tomorrow. The film's production house made the announcement on its social media page today, "Expect the Unexpected! #O2 Teaser From Tomorrow 10am #O2onHotstar #Nayanthara @GsViknesh @that_Cameraman @Composer_Vishal @EditorSelva @prabhu_sr @disneyplusHSTam #O2TheFilm (sic)."

O2 will mark the directorial debut of GK Vignesh, a former associate of filmmaker Venkat Prabhu. The film has child artiste Rithvik in a crucial role.

The title was announced a few days ago and the makers revealed that Disney + Hotstar will be its digital partner. Taking to its social media handle, Disney + Hotstar shared, "Presenting the Title Reveal of O2 Tamil Movie. Coming soon on #DisneyplusHotstar #O2onHotstar #Nayanthara @DreamWarriorpic @prabhu_sr #Ritvick #GSViknesh #Thamizh #VishalChandrasekar (sic)."

The film was earlier referred to as Oxygen. O2 is said to be an action-packed film with Nayanthara playing the leading lady. The film is likely to skip theatrical release and release directly on OTT.

In the meantime, Nayanthara is basking in the success of her recent release Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, which was directed by her beau Vignesh Shivan. Nayanthara shares screenspace Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha in the film. Though it received mixed reviews from the critics, it has become a hit with the audience.

Vignesh and Nayanthara had paid a visit to Shirdi recently as a thanksgiving gesture for the success of the film. Vignesh, who shared a picture of the duo from the temple, on his social media page, captioned it, "From Shiridi wit my Kanmani.. gratitude trip to meet Sai Baba for all the lovely moments. #KaathuVaakulaRenduKaadhal #blessed #Blockbuster #ThanksGiving (sic)." 

Music for the film by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing by Sreekar Prasad. Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Vignesh Shivan had earlier teamed up for Naanum Rowdy Dhaan (2015). Anirudh had scored the music for the film and the songs became chartbusters.
