Their next collaboration unfolds in the backdrop of Srikakulam revolving around a fisherman
Naga Chaitanya, who made his Tamil debut with the bilingual cop drama Custody, is investing all his energy and focus into director Chandoo Mondeti’s ambitious rural drama, to be mounted on a huge budget. Sai Pallavi plays the female lead in the film produced by Bunny Vasu under Geetha Arts. The film, to release in multiple languages, is in its pre-production stage and is set to go on floors soon.
Tentatively titled NC 23, this is Naga Chaitanya’s third project with director Chandoo Mondeti after the romance drama Premam and the action thriller Savyasachi. The project is a rural drama based on true incidents, which will unfold in Srikakulam revolving around the challenges faced by the fishermen community. Meanwhile, Chaitanya has hit the gym to attain a chiselled physique for the film.
The makers of NC 23, earlier today, released a video where Naga Chaitanya, sporting a long beard, is seen sweating it out in the gym for his physical makeover. He is giving it everything in his workouts and enjoyed flaunting his body as well in the promo video. For someone who’s known to be comfortable with urban-centric films, it’ll be interesting to see how brings a rustic story to life in this project.
The film also marks the second on-screen collaboration between Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi after their superhit Love Story, directed by Sekhar Kammula. Chaitanya also worked with Geetha Arts earlier for Sukumar’s 100% Love. Meanwhile, NC 23 team is leaving no stone unturned with their research for the drama. With Geetha Arts’ experience in handling multilingual releases, one can say it is in safe hands.
Besides NC 23, Geetha Arts has a slew of other projects too - including Suhas starrer Ambajipeta Marriage Band, Kota Bommali PS, set to release in November. They’re also producing a film with MAD fame Narrne Nithiin, Rahul Ravindran’s The Girlfriend besides being the co-producers of Allu Arjun’s next with Trivikram.
