Neela Nira Sooriyan, the 2024 Tamil film starring Samyuktha Vijayan who also wrote and directed the film, is all set to make its OTT debut. The film, which revolves around the central protagonist's transition from a man to woman, will begin streaming on Aha Tamil from March 8 onwards. It will also be available on OTTplay Premium app.
Neela Nira Sooriyan is a 2024 Tamil film which starred Samyuktha Vijayan in the lead role. She also took up the roles of a writer and director for the feature film, which saw a theatrical release last year. Following this, Neela Nira Sooriyan is set to premiere on Aha Tamil for the occasion of Women’s Day on March 8. You can watch the film with your OTTplay Premium subscription as well.
Mala Manyan has produced the film under the banner First Copy Productions. Even as Neela Nira Sooriyan has a humble cast, the film features some prominent names like Kitty Krishnamoorthy, Geetha Kailasam, Semmalar Annam and others.
Neela Nira Sooriyan revolves around a high school teacher's gender transition from a man to a woman, as the film takes a sensitive take on how the world around her sees and reacts to it.
Neera Nila Sooriyan marks the directorial debut of Samyuktha, a Seattle-based transwoman who has a penchant for filmmaking. Steev Benjamin has shot, edited and scored music for the film. Although it had a small opening at the time of its release, the film received positive reception for its truthful and empathetic storytelling and representation.
