Neena Gupta on reuniting with Anupam Kher in Metro…In Dino: 'It's familiar ground, we have a great give-and-take'

With the release of the film's much-anticipated trailer and the accompanying song, anticipation for the director's third and final installment of his linked trilogy has skyrocketed.

Contemporary take on relationships with a stellar ensemble cast

The ensemble cast of Metro...In Dino offers a new perspective on contemporary relationships. Veteran actors Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta reunite for the film, which benefits from their onscreen chemistry that has been building for years. "Very familiar ground" owing to their previous experience in theatre, Gupta said of working with Kher.

She said that they have a fantastic give-and-take dynamic as performers. While collaborating with Kher, the relationship was the only aspect that Gupta found truly enjoyable.

Challenges of a nonlinear shooting process

The actor relished the challenge of the film's particularly nonlinear shooting process. She didn't realise how much work she had put into the film until she sat down to dub, as the shooting was done in "tukde tukde" segments. Gupta realised, "Oh wow, I've done quite a bit in this film!" when everything fell into place.
