Neena Gupta is the last person on any panel you would expect not to be honest and bold while talking about anything under the sun. The actor, who has found a new niche with the advent of OTT in India, is right now omnipresent. She is a part of well-received movies, hit shows, and is on the sets all the time, and no one is allowed to complain. But she recently took a moment to talk about still getting rejected after auditioning for parts. She spoke about getting rejected for "Tenet."

Christopher Nolan’s "Tenet" stars Dimple Kapadia in a pivotal part. Neena Gupta has now revealed that even she had auditioned for the same role. The actor went on to reveal how she flew down to Los Angeles to meet the maverick filmmaker. But she still didn’t land the role. “I still give auditions and get rejected. I went to LA this one time for a day just to meet (Christopher) Nolan [for "Tenet"]. But Dimple (Kapadia) got the part even though she didn’t travel to LA to meet him,” she said in a chat with News 18.

The actor also spoke about being an outsider and making a dent in the business. Neena Gupta said, “I was from NSD and was a good actor. I was very new and thought that if I did one role in a Hindi film, I would be flooded with offers, but that didn’t happen. That’s why I feel jealous of young actors. I keep thinking of all the amazing parts I would get to play if I had started my career at this point because OTT has changed everything."

Neena Gupta went on to reveal that she still doesn’t feel like an insider even after being in the business for over four decades. “I feel like an outsider even now. I’ve been dissuaded from raising my voice for something that was wrong. I was told to let it go and that nobody would listen to me because I’m not as famous as another co-star. This is how this industry works," she tells us.
