Abeeram Varma, the actor who shot to fame with Teja’s Hora Hori, the critically acclaimed Manu and other films and shows like Raahu, Eakam and Jhansi, was seen in a breezy romance drama titled Neetho last year. The film, which released on October 14, 2022 featured Saathvika Raj as the female lead. The romance was written and directed by first-time filmmaker Balu Sharma.
After a brief theatrical run, the film is now out on OTT. Leading streaming platform Amazon Prime Video acquired its post-theatrical digital rights and premiered the film this weekend. AVR Swamy, MR Kirtana, Snehal Jangala jointly produced the film under Pruthvi Creations and Million Dreams Creations. The film earned decent reviews from critics at the time of its release.
Ravi Varma, Sunjiit Akkinepally, Neha Krishna, Kavya Raman, Apoorva Srinivasan, Mohit Baid, Pavithra Lokesh, Padmajaa El, Gururaj Manepalli, Sanjay Raichura, TNR, Snehal Jangala, A V R Swamy, C S Prakash, Sandeep Vijayvardhan, Krishna Mohan and Rajeev Kanakala essayed important roles in the film. Vivek Sagar scored the music for the same.
The story revolves around Varun (Aberaam), a young insurance agent, whose relationship with his girlfriend Anusha runs into troubled waters. He bumps into a Meghana (Saathvika), the daughter of an elite businessman, at work. Meghana is on the cusp of marriage but destiny has other ideas for her. Even before Varun and Meghana could move on from their past, they end up falling for one another.
OTTplay.com, while summarising the film in its review, wrote, “Neetho explores several grey areas in modern-day relationships with maturity. Aberaam Varma and Saathvika Raj headline the film with confidence and are backed by terrific contributions on the technical front - the cinematography, music and production design in particular. The director Balu Sharma is a talent to watch out for.”
