Neha Dhupia breaks silence on being pregnant before marriage, was told by parents ‘You have 72 hours before we…’

Neha Dhupia is one of those actors in the industry who never shies away from calling a spade a spade. She’s known for her bindaas attitude and hatke roles. Much like her characters on screen, the actress also had an unexpected wedding at a time least expected by her unassuming fans. 

Wedding bells rang for Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi back on May 10, 2018 when the actress dropped pictures from her hush-hush Sikh wedding ceremony on social media. The news came as a surprise to not only her fans but also to quite a few in the industry. Soon after, the actress announced her pregnancy too on social media post, which came within a couple of months of her tying the knot with Angad. 

A section of the netizens also ended up brutally trolling her for being pregnant before marriage. Now, almost after five years after her wedding, the actress finally opened up about her sudden wedding and the trolling that followed the announcement of her pregnancy.

While speaking to Zoom in a recent interview, Neha shared that she and Angad had a nonlinear wedding and that they were pregnant before they tied the knot. She added that when they told her parents that they were pregnant, her parents reacted saying that it’s okay. “But you have 72 hours before we turn this around,” and added “I was given 2 and a half days to then go back to Bombay and get married."

Neha further told the News portal that she was showered with a lot of love and support from her family and near and dear ones. When asked about the trolling that followed her pregnancy announcement back in August 2018, the actress quipped saying that her choices aren’t hurting anybody. “So then there’s no harm in doing what you want, what you please and look at where it got us.”

Earlier this month on May 10, the couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary. They are now parents to Mehr and Guriq. The actress was last seen in the 2022 film titled A Thursday in which she essayed the character of a pregnant cop.
