Voot has announced the streaming date for Illegal Season Two. The makers will release the much-awaited series starring Neha Sharma on November 25, 2021. In the teaser, we see the actor coming back as Niharika Singh and will once again lock horns with Piyush Mishra's character, Janardhan Jaitley. The series also features Akshay Oberoi, Satyadeep Misra, Tanuj Virwani, and Parul Gulati in supporting roles.
Season two of Illegal is a courtroom drama that follows Niharika Singh, an idealist lawyer, as she navigates tough legal issues, high-profile conflicts, and a complicated personal life. The high-stakes fight between Niharika and her old mentor-turned-adversary, Janardhan Jaitley, played by Piyush Misra, is taken to new heights in the second season of the famous franchise. With Niharika taking a big risk in founding her own law company and Janardhan Jaitley launching an ambitious campaign to become the next Chief Minister of Delhi, the fascinating mentor-mentee conflict heats up.
The story follows their competition as well as three complex legal battles that provide an insider's view of the tangled world of intricate law, large business, and filthy politics. Through these instances, we learn about the lives of lawyers and their battles in court and in life. But the issue remains: will justice be served or will the truth be suppressed?
Earlier, during an interaction with OTTPlay, Neha had spoken about her character Niharika in Illegal Season 2. The actor had said, "When I talk about Niharika (in Illegal), she's an independent girl from Delhi and Bengaluru. She is someone who can muster the courage to fight a guy like JJ even though she's an employee. She believes in herself; she has a mother who believes in her. She also has a best friend who she lives with as her support system."
Illegal season 2 is directed by Ashwini Chaudhary, while the story and screenplay are by Advaita Kala and Abhijeet Deshpande. The Salim-Sulaiman duo has composed the music for the title track.
