Neil Nitin Mukesh (recently seen in the web series Hai Junoon) has confirmed that he has been working on his grandfather Mukesh's biopic for a while. The actor has penned the script after hearing stories from his father, Nitin Mukesh. Neil has in fact even gone ahead and picked himself as an actor for the project. Here are all the details he spilled...

While clarifying that work on Mukesh biopic is indeed on, Neil Nitin Mukesh also chose himself as the actor for the movie. "I don’t think there can be a better Mukesh than me. Neil Nitin Mukesh is Mukesh. I know him better than anyone else. Dad also wants me to play my grandfather for emotional reasons," Neil told News18. He, however, is also open to the idea of bringing another actor on board if that is what the producer feels would be the right decision. This is mainly because Neil acknowledges how the people who bankroll a movie give importance to Instagram followers too ahead of casting an actor for a project.

The actor confirmed that he is the writer for Mukesh biopic. "Every time I sit down with my father, I listen to anecdotes about my grandfather from him, go through the archives of whatever we’ve of him like his memorabilia and photographs," he said. Promising a 'lovely arc,' Neil assures that people need to see his grandfather's inspiring journey.

Abhishek Sharma likely to helm the film

Abhishek Sharma, who had helmed Parmanu and Tere Bin Laden, is the frontrunner for the project. "He’s truly excited about the idea. I’m waiting for him to get free. I would love to listen to how he’s envisioning it," the actor confirmed. Neil confirmed that the team is trying to understand the right medium to release the film, while also seeking out the producers who would be willing to bankroll the project.
