Nenjuku Needhi 50th day celebrations: Arunraja Kamaraj and Udhayanidhi Stalin to team up for the second time

Nenjuku Needhi, headlined by Udhayanidhi Stalin, had a theatrical run of 50 days. The Arunraja Kamaraj directorial hit the screens on May 20 and is streaming on SonyLIV.

Thanking the press for their constant support, Arunraja Kamaraj said, as a team, they were happy that the movie had turned out to be successful. “Nenjuku Needhi is my second film, as a director. The response I got from everyone was overwhelming. I feel both humbled and touched,” he said. Further, he extended his gratitude to fellow technicians, who made the film for what it is today. “I am glad we made this film that discussed pertinent issues about society.”

Producer Boney Kapoor said it was a great experience to work with the entire crew of Nenjuku Needhi. “We, at Bayview Projects, are keen on focusing on content-driven movies. I am eager to produce more quality Tamil movies in future. Also, Arunraja and I will collaborate with Udhayanidhi Stalin for another project.”

Aari of Bigg Boss Tamil fame, who played a pivotal role in the film, attributed his success to Udhayanidhi Stalin. “Nedunchalai, which had me as a hero, could release only because of Udhay sir's help and Red Giant Movies. Nenjuku Needhi is an honest film, and I consider this an important film in my career.”

Udhayanidhi Stalin, on his behalf, said the movie became successful only because of the effort by Arunraja Kamaraj. “If not for his vision, Nenjuku Needhi wouldn't have been the film that we saw. Arunraja will direct me in one more film,” he confirmed.

Nenjuku Needhi is a remake of the Hindi film, Article 15. The original, directed by Anubhav Sinha, had Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role.

The investigative crime drama, which has music by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, additionally, features Tanya Ravichandran and Shivani Rajasekhar, in supporting roles.
