Udhayanidhi Stalin starrer film Nenjuku Needhi gets a release date. The new political drama, helmed by Arunraja Kamaraj, also stars Tanya Ravichandra, Aari Arujunan, and Shivani Rajsekhar. The film is produced by Boney Kapoor.

The film is a remake of Ayushmann Khurrana’s Hindi film Article 15, directed by Anubhav Sinha. It was released in 2019. Boney Kapoor bought the Tamil copyrights to the film in 2020.

Boney Kapoor took to social media to announce the release date of the movie with the poster, showing Stalin as a cop against the backdrop of a burning village. Sharing the poster on Twitter, he wrote: "Mark the date! #NenjukuNeedhi is coming to the big screens on May 20, 2022!

According to Times of India, Arunraja Kamaraj told a regional magazine that he adored the film, Article 15 and that when the opportunity came to direct it, he pounced at it. He also stated that it was impossible to generate every particular scene from the Bollywood movie and also that the film was consequently altered.

The film Nenjuku Needhi began production in April 2021 and is currently in the final stages of production. Former Chief minister M Karunanidhi's autobiography, Nenjuku Needhi, inspired the film.

The teaser and the motion poster for the upcoming film were released earlier, which has got the fans even more excited for the drama. The film looks sure to be thought-provoking. The 70-second preview shows the injustice and brutality that caste inequality causes. The film is scheduled to release on May 20 in theatres.

Meanwhile, Stalin is also working on Maamannan, a film directed by Mari Selvaraj. It also features Keerthy Suresh.
