Ganesh Bellamkonda, son of producer Bellamkonda Suresh and brother to Telugu, Hindi actor Bellamkonda Sreenivas, forayed into the industry with the feel-good family entertainer Swathimuthyam last year. His second release as a lead actor was Nenu Student Sir, helmed by debutant Rakhil Uppalapati. Satish Varma bankrolled the film under SV2 Entertainments.

Nenu Student Sir, after multiple postponements, released in theatres in the first week of June this year. The film opened to disastrous reviews all over, with critics and audiences ridiculing it for its poor writing and haywire execution. On the commercial front too, the thriller couldn’t make much of an impact in theatres. After its theatrical run, the film is now out on OTT.
