Among the slew of Tamil films that released for Pongal this year, one of them was Nesippaya, a romantic action thriller. The film marked the debut of lead actor Akash Murali who is son of veteran and late actor Murali. He paired up with Aditi Shankar in Nesippaya which is directed by filmmaker Vishnuvardhan who made films like Pattiyal and Sarvam.

After nearly five months of release, Nesippaya has made its streaming debut. The film is available on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium to watch. The romantic action film is majorly set in Portugal. It revolves around two lovers who face a difference of opinion and separate, with the girlfriend getting a job abroad. But after the girlfriend gets blamed for a murder in the European country, it is up to the hero to save her from the crime game and unveil what is happening around her.

Cast and crew of Nesippaya

Nesippaya is produced by XB Film Creators and boasts a star-studded ensemble. Actors R Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Kalki Koechlin, Khushbu, and others play important parts in the film. For Nesippaya, Vishnuvardhan teamed up with his regular collaborator Yuvan Shankar Raja for music, with cinematography handled by Cameron Eric Bryson and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad.

Nesippaya opened to mixed reviews upon its release. The film marked the comeback of Vishnuvardhan to Tamil cinema after a gap of 10 years. His last film was in Hindi, titled Shershaah, which is a biographical war film based on the life of Vikram Batra, martyred during the Kargil War.
